Hello. A little background. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, I moved to Boston. I wasted no time pursuing my dream of being a waiter in Harvard Square. Ultimately I decided that restaurant work was not for me. I decided to try my hand at illustration. For a while I continued to open wine bottles and grind pepper while illustrating for the Boston Globe and other publications, until finally I took the plunge and started illustrating full time. The work has been wide ranging and fun and I am grateful to be doing this for a living. By the way, I still wield a pepper mill with panache.
Early in my career I spent a few years working on exclusively book jackets. I had the privilege of illustrating covers for authors like Andre Dubus, Ruth Rendell and James M. Cain. I have worked in several media, but currently I work digitally. My influences are vast, running from Fra Angelico to Rene Magritte and beyond.
